Kerala, Gujerat and British Banknotes

This Christmas we had Indian friends from Kerela and Gujerat who joined us for the celebrations. We were delighted with the food they brought, so tasty and different from turkey and trimmings. It was a good mixture of West and East. Sometimes, collecting banknotes can be similar in that we buy a note and it joins the collection we are building up steadily.. It may be different from our ‘normal’ notes, eg our first polymer or an Operation Bernhard. I was never a big fan of the polymers but when I bought my first £50 King Charles First Run, the sheen and colour of the note was outstanding. It is so attractive and has changed my opinion about polymers. I have  a High value Scottish £50 which again is a real gem. Like our visitors from India, the notes have become welcome guests in the collection.
