I have had several enquiries these past few days regarding banknotes, most found in a deceased relative’s estate. The truth is that most of the notes are tatty, well-used and not worth very much at all. However, a couple of collections were in very good nick and a couple were 1st Runs, Replacement Notes and one Experimental banknote. I made an offer for the collection but the offer was declined which is fair enough. The person wanted to keep them and start collecting banknotes! I will always offer advice on old £1 notes, or any GB notes. Advice is free. I will offer to buy notes but will be fair in giving any enquirer a true valuation of a collection.
