The Lunatic Asylum and British Banknotes

I worked in Mental Health for many years and although retired I still help out with advice on legal matters. Last week I was able to access the records of the local ‘Lunatic Asylum’ (now a Banking HQ) built in 1905. In the archives are the photos of every inmate/patient who passed through the doors, the youngest being a child of thirteen years of age. I have attached an image of a young woman with the nurses’ hand on her head, holding her still. The cataloguing of the patients was detailed and thorough. I think it important to catalogue our collections to make sure all is in order and that nothing is out of place. Cataloguing helps focus on what may be missing from our collections and hopefully, you may find what you are looking for on my website.
